Micropropagation culture of Magnolia x soulangiana showed an evident decrease in growth rate during two-year cultivation, so appropriate concentrations of cytokinin and benzyladenine (BA) were repeatedly tested at doses: 0.0; 0.2; 0.5 and 1.0 mg/l medium. The effect of addition of a low concentration of IBA 0.2 mg/l was determined parallelly in comparison with the control without IBA. The highest yield was determined at a dose of 0.5 mg/l BA without IBA addition. The results confirm stimulating effects of BA on the number of shoots.
