The effect of soil fertilization with triple superphosphate and elemental sulphur was studied. The obtained results exchibited that increasing rate of applied P from O up to 68 kg P2 O5 per fed significantly increased all studied characteristics of vegetative growth, total yield and its components and chemical constituents of tuber roots. but no further increases were observed with 90 kg P2 O5 per fed. However, number of both branches or tuber roots oer plant was not markedly influenced by P-fertilization. The highest mean values were obtained by using of 68 kg p2 O5 with 200 kg elemental-S per fed, while unfertilized treatment or application of 45 kg P2O5 with 100 kg elemental-S per fed gave the lowest values, respectively
