Two field experiments were conducted to study the effect of plant population and nitrogen fertilizer levels on growth, earliness, yield and its components of Giza 87 cotton variety. the results indicated that increasing plant population density significantly increased final plant height, number of sympodial branches per plant, shedding percentage, earliness percentage, actual plant population at harvest, percentage of plant losses per fed. Both plant density and nitrogen levels did not affect lint rate and seed index. The interaction between the two factors had insignificant effect on all traits studied
