Effect of agrotechnical factors and of the hybrid on the quality of silage maize. I. Dry matter and crude protein content
1996
Molnar, B. | Gyori, Z. (Debreceni Agrartud. Egyet., Debrecen (Hungary))
Changes caused in the dry matter and crude protein contents of Kiskun TC 314, Ida MTC and Natacha TC silage maize by applying 90 kg/ha N fertilizer on a chernozem soil with lime deposits in Debrecen (Hungary) in 1994 and 1995 were examined at three harvesting dates (98-100, 108-110 and 118-120 days from sowing). The results indicated that the variety was decisive in the development of both dry matter and crude protein content. The choice of harvesting date had a significant influence on the dry matter content, but its effect on the crude protein content was not so clear. The effect of N fertilization on dry matter content could not be demonstrated due to the drought, but it clearly had a positive effect on the crude protein content
