The role of multinational companies in Hungarian agrobusiness
1997
Szucs, J. | Szakacs,A. (Univ. of Agric., Godollo (Hungary))
To sum up, we may point out, that the leading multinational companies are organizations aiming to maximalize their profits, which finally motivates the steps and expansion they make in every case. However, this does not necessarily mean that they would strive to "eviscerate" their partners. Since they aim to maximally exploit advantages deriving from the international division of labour, there is no doubt that they often cause situations in which the interests of the domestic entrepreneurs and state-owned companies of the conquered territories are hurt. However, one must observe what the organizations need is not a barley vegetating medium but partners - producers, delivers and consumers - who are capable of effective production and development, and exhibit rapidly increasing solvent demand. Owing to their working capital, multinational companies have transformed to structure of privatized firms, as well as the connected dase material production, supply and servicing spheres, within a very short time. The success affects not only the partner company but the Hungarian economy as well.Their presence and role will increase even more inexorably in the course of Hungary's entry into the European Union
