Land-uses and land characteristics east of Mosul city using remote sensing techniques

The main of this work is to produce land use map and drainage system map of the studied area with view to finding significant relationships between different affecting factors. Eighteen panchromatic black and white vertical aerial photographs scale 1:50,000 were viewed stereoscopically. Black and white LANDSAT images of the area for channels 5 and 7 scale 1:400,000 were also interpreted. Anderson's system of land-use classification was adopted in this work. The produced map went-up to the third level in this system. A drainage map was produced for the area of study. Eight drainage basins were recognized. Morphometric and drainage analysis was done. Linear relationships were deduced between drainage area to main stream length, drainage density to stream frequency
