Awassi lambs responses to dietary supplement of rumen degradable nitrogen

Thirty-six individually-penned Awassi lambs (mean live weight 22.0 kg) were offered one of six diets, to investigate response to dietary supplement of ruman of degradable nitrogen (1.0, 1.3 and 1.6 g RDN/MJ of ME) given with diets of either 40:60 or 60:40 forage-to-concentrate ratios. Diets were formulated to have similar amount of rumen undegradable nitrogen (UDN) among treatment. The diets were given daily to provide sufficient metabolizable energy for maintenance and 150g gain, and were adjusted according to live weight at weekly intervals
