The study presents investigations in dog dentistry carried out on thirty dogs. We determined four stages of the periodontal disease development for dogs (stage I, II, III, IV). As the basis of classification the following points were considered: localisation of plaque on the teeth surface; localisation of calculus on the teeth surface; depth of the periodontal pocket; degenerative changes of jaw bones. Development stages of the periodental disease including the description of symptons are explained and shown in illustrations. The formulation of the stages helps the practical veterinarian make a complete examination of the mouth cavity and choose the right methods of treatment. Spread of dentistry diseases in varions dogs' age groups in 1994 as well as clinical and x-ray investigation results are presented in tables.
