[Prediction of the bioavailability of the phosphorus sources through the phosphorus citric acid solubility method] | Prediccion de la biodisponibilidad de las fuentes fosforadas mediante la tecnica de solubilidad citrica del fosforo

إنجليزي. The method that measures the citric acid solubility (CAS) of phosphorus (P), estimates in a qualitative way the P availability of a mineral source. This method is fas and inexpensive. The objective of this experiments was to evaluate the CAS test potential to predict the bioavailability of phosphorous sources. Two experiments were carried out using 24 and 32 Pelibuey ovines. Animals were assigned to 4 treatments depending on the supplementary P source. Experiments lasted for 84 and 83 days respectively. In experiment 1, treatments were: calcium orthophospathe (CO) 100 %; CO phosphoric rock (PR) 66:33 %; CO: PR 33:66 %; PR 100 % CAS of supplements were 96, 74, 54 and 34 % respectively. Total P content in basal diet was 0.15 % which was increased to 0.25 % with the P supplement. In experiment 2 treatments were: phosphoric acid (H3PO4) 100 %; H3PO4: RF 66:33%; H3PO4: RF 33:66% and PR 100 %. CAS of supplements was 100, 78, 57 and 37 % respectively. P content in basal diet was 0.11 % which was increased to 0.25 % with the P supplement. Results were analyzed by means of correlation and regression analysis. Average daily weight gain did not correlate with CAS of treatments. The P content and the % of minerals in the twefth rib did correlated (p.01) wiht CAS. It is concluded that the CAS method is a good estimate to predict the availability of P.

La medicion de la solubilidad citrica del fosforo (S.C.F.) permite conocer de una manera cualitativa la disponibilidad del fosforo (P) de un insumo mineral; es economica y rapida de realizar. El objetivo de este trabajo fue, estimar el valor de la tecnica para predecir la biodisponibilidad de las fuentes fosforadas. Se realizaron dos experimentos con 24 y 32 ovinos de raza Pelibuey respectivamente, los cuales fueron distribuidos en 4 tratamientos dependiendo de la fuente de P suplementaria. Los experimentos tuvieron una duracion de 84 y 83 dias respectivamente. En el primer experimento los tratamientos fueron: ortofosfato de calcio (OC) 100 %; OC roca fosforica (RF) 66:33 %; OC:RF 33:66 %; RF 100 %. La SCF de los suplementos fue de 96, 74, 54 y 34 % respectivamente. El contenido de P total de la dieta basal fue de 0.15 % y se incremento a 0.25 % con el suplemento fosforado. En el segundo experimento los tratamientos fueron: acido fosforico (H3PO4) 100 %; H3PO4: RF 66:33%; H3PO4: RF 33:66% y RF 100 %. La S.C.F. de los suplementos fue de 100, 78, 57 y 37 % respectivamente. El contenido de P total de la dieta basal fue de 0.11 % y se incremento a 0.25 % con el suplemento. Los resultados se analizaron por medio de regresion y correlacion. En ambos casos la ganancia de peso no guardo correlacion con la S.C.F. de los tratamientos. En cambio, el contenido de P y el de minerales totales en la duodecima costilla se correlaciono (p0.01) con la S.C.F. Se concluye que la tecnica de S.C.F. permite medir cualitativamente la disponibilidad del P.
