إنجليزي. Cellulose acetate gel electrophoresis (CAGE) as a method for cultivar characterization was evaluate for nine enzymes from 16 potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) genetic materials. Two different parts of the plants (tubers and foliage) and growing conditions (in vivo, in vitro) were also considered. For most of the enzymatic systems tested, the bands from tuber were more evident than those from foliage. However, peroxidase showed the highest variation both on the amount and distribution of bands from foliage in vitro than from tuber in vivo. On the other hand, acid phosphatase and alcohol dehydrogenase did not migrate. 6-phosphogluconate dehydrogenase characterized well the cultivar Puebla from the rest of the materials. Glutamate oxaloacetate transferase was useful to detect clone 676082 in samples from foliage in vitro

Se evaluo el metodo de electroforesis en acetato de celulosa (EAC) para la caracterizacion de 16 variedades de papa (Solanum tuberosum L.), con nueve enzimas. Tambien se considero 2 partes de la planta (tuberculo y hojas) y las condiciones de cultivo (in vivo, in vitro). Para la mayoria de los sistemas enzimaticos las bandas de tuberculo fueron mas evidentes que las de follaje. No obstante, la peroxidasa mostro la mayor variacion en cantidad y distribucion de bandas de follaje in vitro que de tuberculo in vivo. Por otro lado, la fosfatasa acida y la alcohol deshidrogenasa no migraron. La 6-fosfogluconato deshidrogenasa diferencio la variedad Puebla del resto de los materiales. La glutamato oxalaocetato transferasa fue util para detectar al clon 676082 en muestras de follaje in vitro
