إنجليزي. Macerated tuber samples from the potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) cultivars Alpha, Atlantic, Gigant, Ireri, Mundial, and Criolla, were analyzed in cellulose acetate gel electrophoresis (CAGE) for the presence and activity of esterase (EST), peroxidase (PER), glutamate-oxaloacetate-transferase (GOT), malate dehydrogenase (MDH), and 6-phosphogluconate-dehydrogenase (6PGDH). The best differentiating enzyme systems were EST, PER, GOT, and MDH, after 7 and 14 days of storage at 0 degrad C for the cultivars Ireri, Mundial, and Criolla. The presence of contrasting CAGE enzymatic polymorphisms are useful as genetic markers to characterize potato cultivars
