[Foliar fertilization on "Valencia late" orange at Alamo and Martinez de la Torre, Veracruz] | Fertilizacion foliar en naranjo "Valencia late" en Alamo y Martinez de la Torre, Veracruz

إنجليزي. The objective of this study was to increase fruit production and to quantify the nutritional state of "Valencia Late" orange trees (Citrus sinensis L. Osbeck) treated with foliage fertilization in order to assess the technique to reduce the fertilizer used. Orchards of "Valencia Late" orange trees grafted onto Citrus aurantium L. were used. The treatments evaluated were sprayed onto the foliage: urea with a low content of biuret (foliage urea) at 4%; commercial urea at 4%, Humiton at 0.4% complete fertilizer. The control was soil fertilization. The treatment with the best results of the three experiments was urea with low biuret. This treatment promoted 60% more numbers of fruits per tree than did the control. However, the nutritional balance of the trees of all treatments, evaluated by means of the Kenworthy technique, was not significantly different; the complete fertilizer only increased the zinc level

El objetivo del estudio fue incrementar la produccion de frutos reduciendo las cantidades de fertilizantes nitrogenados y evaluar el estado nutrimental de naranjos "Valencia Late", por efecto de la fertilizacion foliar en huertos de naranjo "Valencia Late" injertados en Citrus aurantium L. Los tratamientos asperjados al follaje fueron: 4% de urea con bajo contenido de biuret (urea foliar), 4% de urea normal (comercial), 0.4% de sustancias humicas (Humitron) y fertilizante completo. Se tuvo como testigo a la fertilizacion al suelo. El tratamiento mas sobresaliente en los tres experimentos lo constituyo la urea foliar con bajo contenido de biuret, que promovio en los tres experimentos aproximadamente 60% mas de frutos normales que el testigo. En el balance nutrimental, evaluado por la tecnica Kenworthy, no hubo diferencias marcadas entre tratamientos y la aplicacion del tratamiento completo solo mejoro el nivel del zinc
