The paper attempted to highlight the economics of cotton production in the country by focusing on two measures of profitability. Financial profitability indicators pinpointed significant gains to farmers and processors from cotton growing and trading. BCR [Benefit Cost Ratio] is greater than one and ROI [Return on Investment] is high for all locations. Social profitability using domestic resources cost (DRC) analysis showed that the country enjoys comparative advantage in cotton production. The domestic costs required to produce a unit of cotton is less than the cost of acquiring one dollar to import the same unit of commodity. Sensitivity analysis showed that the comparative advantage position of the country is stable despite drastic decline in prices or deterioration in yield levels
