Biomass fertilization of various cropping patterns was tested at NOMIARC for CY [crop year] 1993 to 1995. The study involved six treatments namely; T1 corn-corn; T2 corn-cowpea; T3 corn-mungbean; T4 peanut-corn; and T6 corn-sweet peas. Varieties used were IPB Var1 for corn, T82-D-889 for cowpea, Taiwan Green for mungbean and Kalantao for sweetpeas. Results of the study revealed that corn biomass incorporated at 2.09, 1.66, and 2.00 tons/ha consequently obtained corn grain yields of 1.17, 1.41, and 1.79 t/ha, respectively. Peanut, cowpea, and mungbean biomass incorporated at 2.29, 0.35, and 0.99 tons/ha obtained a corn yield of 1.74, 1.30, and 1.13 t/ha, respectively. The best sequential cropping pattern was cowpea-corn which gave a net return per peso invested value of P13.04
