28 accessions of wild tomato belonging to species of Lycopersicon peruvianum, L.glandulosum, L. chilense, L. pimpinellifolium, L. hirsutum and L. pennellii were tested for their resistance to infection by mechanic inoculation with viruses of tomato mosaic (ToMV), cucumber mosaic (CMV) and tomato spotted wilt (TSWV). All plants of L. hirsutum alone showed complete resistance to ToMV, and one accession of L. peruvianum remained not infected by TSWV. Other two accessions of that species exhibited also high level of resistance to the same virus. Resistance of the remaining accessions to infection with particular viruses ranged from 0 to 94 percent of inoculated plants
