Depending on the application of different fertilizing systems in field crop rotation, significant changes occurred in the nutrient regime of soil. In a long-term static fertilizer experiment in a 4-crop rotation system on a meadow, slightly saline soil containing 3.1 % humus, the contents of available phosphorus and potassium forms increased significantly after fertilization of the first rotation crop (maize). Presowing nitrogen application and wheat dressing in spring should only be done after N (minimum) determination in soil, while for determination of the nitrogen dressing rates in spring, the nitrogen content in plants at the tillering stage should also be determined. The later nitrogen application under drought conditions in Bulgaria proved to be ineffective and did not increase the wheat yields
