The structure and wool production of merino sheep population and its crosses was evaluated according to polymorphicmarker genes in the blood. In the crosses some allele frequencies compared to merino pure-breed animals changed. Calculated genetic distance was 0.1060 merino - merino x lincoln, 0.1200 merino - merino x kent and 0.1962 merino - merino x corriedale. The effect of crossing was seen throughout by a high average of heterozygosity in the populations of crosses merino x lincoln 0.4309, merino x kent 0.4512 and merino x corriedale 0.4187. There was confirmed effect of crossing to amount of wool production and to its thickness. The tendency of increasing wool production in kg in relation to average heterozygosity was also proved
