Evaluation of selected pea [Pisum sativum] cultivar assortment according to content and variability of crude protein in seeds
1993
Slamena, Z. (Slachtitelska Stanica, Horna Streda (Slovakia))
From 1979-1981 a set of 15 pea cultivars was tested to assess the variability of crude protein in seeds. The variability was determined to be significant, ranging within 24.3 - 26.21 to 32.92 - 33.98 percent. The variation coefficient (VG equals 7.59 - 8.46 percent) compared with other yield-forming elements is low, although in comparison with other authors it is higher. In evaluation of crude protein stability, cultivars with both high and low crude protein were found, noted for stable and very variable content. Cultivars with decreasing crude protein content in seeds in universally favourable years for crude protein accumulation are described
