Present structural changes in Slovak countryside

Several criteria exist for the classification of rural regions. For creating a development strategy, classification into isolated, intermediate and integrated regions is used. The development strategy for isolated regions is based on the preferential use of actual resources. In the isolated regions these are labour force and natural resources. In the intermediate regions they are agricultural land and the linkages between primary and secondary industries. In the integrated regions they are their linkages with the urban centres. Slovak village development is very different at present. The results of this development are significant in the social, cultural and economic disintegration
