Paulenka, J. (Lesnicky Vyskumny Ustav, Zvolen (Slovak Republic))
Partial results of research into coniferous stand health in mountainous forests affected by immissions in the Spis region (Slovak Republic) are presented. They were obtained by using modified method of international monitoring of forest health condition in a dense network of 1087 monitoring plots, where 16,900 trees were assessed annually for four years. In particular the loss of assimilatory organs and alterations in their colouration were assessed with the help of a five-degree scale and percentages. Mean annual decline of the trees represented 3.04% of their total number. The dependencies of the loss and discoloration of assimilatory organs were assessed on selected characteristics of site conditions
