Proteases preparation and their utilization in pig fatttening

The maximum productions of proteases was achieve by Bacillus subtilis strains S-5 and S-8 and Bacillus licheniformis strains L-2 and L-3. Under conditions of submersed fermentation using a 151 bioreactor in the optimized nutrient medium the yield of enzyme preparation was about 0.4%. Strain Bacilus licheniformis L-3 produces an extracellular alkaline Ser-protease. The 0.1% addition of protease preparation Nitrazyme to the fodders COS I and COS II had a positive effect on the pigs' growth, shown by the daily weight gain increasing from 26.8 to 31.5% over control
