Objective of this research is to find out the directions, compatability, and appropriate proportional budget in rural development allocation budgeting, according to the Sixth National Social and Economic Development Plan. Data are collected and analysed by historical method and literature reviews. In addition, the research utilized percentage calculation for data analysis. The findings reveal that the budget allocation in rural development have directions and compatibility with objectives and targets of the Sixth National Social and Economic Development Plan, and the governmental policy as well. The research also reveals that under the government of the former Prime Minister General Chatichai Choonhavan. the budget allocation in rural development projects increase steadily in every fiscal year. However, in consideration of proportion in total allocating budget, there are a lot of rural development budget allocation under the government of the fomer Prime Minister Mr. Anand Punyarachun.
