Purpose of this research was to study agrarian system transformations for the last 40 year and causes of these agrarian system transformations, and to classify types of farmers according to the constraints and potentialities of their farming system and the strategy implemented in order to reach their socio - economic objective. The evolution of agrarian system was devided into 4 periods : 1.Extensification; increase of production through expansion of agricultural areas. 2.Intensification; increase level of production per area unit on a limited agricultural land. 3.Agricultural diversification. 4.Farming system differentiation. Each period was characterized by specific ecological environment economic and social condition. The agrarian history of the study area reveals the differentiation process of farming system which has led to the present situation. Facing major economic and social tranformations have develop original strategies in order to meet their needs. Local forming system could be devided into 6 types : 1.Deversified production system managed by a old farmer which none to succeed. 2.Very small farm. 3.Small farm. 4.Medium diversified production system. 5.Large mechanized farm involved extensive monocropping. Finally, this study led to propositions into design and implement innovation adapted to real situation of each farm type.
