Cropping system on legumenous crops and main crops in sequential contributed significant roles or crop production and soil improvement, especially, poor soil conditions have been established in the region. Cowpea, sword bean, sun-hemp were used as green manure crops. Four nitrogen levels such as 0, 10, 20 (ammonium sulphate) and 20 (Urea) Kg/rai N were assigned in split plot design. The study was on Oxic Paleustults soil group at Khon Khon site. Four years experiment revealed that plowing under the green manure crops increased soil pH significantly but the soil organic matter has been reduced as compared to the initial information. Soil bulk density was improved by sword bean incorporated together with 20 kg/rai of N. The result was so emphasized on subsoil. Soil water retension (Soil pF) was also improved to all soil depths. Green manuring regardless crops kinds tended to improve sorghum yeild. Nitrogen fertilizer regardless sources resulted to increase grain yield effectively.
