The storage of apples in control atmosphere

In order to preserve the quality of stored apples, different technologies of storage are improved. This paper describes the recent technologies of storage in the conditions of the noble gases, primarily nitrogen, with a minimum of necessary amount of oxygen, higher content of carbon dioxide as well as in conditions with removing the ethylene. Application of these technologies provide: better texture of fruit, higher content of chlorophyll in the skin, higher content of acids and vitamins in fruit, because of its slower pulling down, as well as preventing the occurrence of some physiological disorders.
