The aim of this is to analise and pomologically describe 12 autochthonous varieties of pears which are the most impportant for use in fresh form or for the light industry and which are also spread in the region of Upper Polimlje, Montenegro (Yugoslavia). They represent fruit genetic resources which can be possible use to the breeding work. Mayority of varieties belong to groups of very small and small fruit. The most of pear varieties have of the colour, 5 varieties without any adding colour, but the others are the colourful. The dimensions of lenticels of studied varieties were different. The rust colour of lenticels was predominant.
