During the last decade seven new white wine grapevine cultivars have been developed at the Faculty of Agriculture in Novi Sad (Yugoslavia). In this paper we present field experiment results in comparison with Italian Riesling for the period 1981-1994. According to this experiment the new cultivars showed the following characteristics: higher yielding capacity shown by Lela, Sila, Rani Rizling and Zlata; lower yielding given by Mila; higher sugar accumulation in grapes - for Petra, Liza, Rani Rizling and Mila; higher level of grape acidity shown by Liza, Mila and Rani Rizling; higher wine quality - for Petra, Liza and Mila; earlier grape maturity: Zlata (1st epoch), Rani Rizling and Petra (2nd epoch); resistant to Botrytis cinerea: Sila, Lela, Liza and Mila; less susceptible to Plasmopara viticola: Zlata, Lela, Petra, Liza; higher resistance to cold: Mila, Petra, Liza.
