As the realization of milk products is an important problem in Latvia's agriculture, the factors influencing milk quality are of a great importance. In 1997 experiments were carried out on the LUA research and training farm "Vecauce" to study the influence of metal premixes in feed on the milk chemical composition and its organoleptic quality. The effect of several mineral premixes produced by the joined Latvia-Finland firm and by a German firm was tested. The content of mineral elements in 1 kg of the premixes and the changes of mineral content in milk at the end of the experiments are presented in tables. Having analysed the experimental data the conclusion was drawn that the use of mineral premixes in feed caused only slight changes in the content of dry matter, fat and protein in milk.
