[Evaluation of cattle reproductive and milk qualities on the basis of genetic analyses data for the improvement of animals health]

The aim of the research was to evaluate the heredity of resistance to mastitis in cows of different genotypes. The main task was to find out the genetic and non-genetic factors influencing the resistance. Investigations were carried out from March 1997 to March 1998. The results show that the resistance to mastitis is influenced by the level of cows' productivity, the milk flow intensity and the genotype of animals. It is stated that resistance to mastitis is not the only factor to be considered in selecting the herd. Other important factors are milk yield and fat content in it.
