This study was conducted at Faisalabad to evaluate the chemical residues of Phosphine in stored wheat grain. Agtoxine tablets containing 56% Aluminium Phosphide and 42% pH3 were placed at the rate of 3 tablets/tonn of wheat in air tight siloses. Composite samples of wheat grains were collected after 7, 14, 21 and 28 days of placement and were analyzed for Phosphine residues. The analysis revealed that pH3 content decreased with time from 0.085 mg/kg on 7 day to 0.022 mg/kg on 21 day of placement and no residues were found on 28 days. The residues of Phosphine decreased within safe permissible limit (0.057 mg/kg) in 14 days.
