Two applications planting dates and maize varieties viz., Azam and Sarhad-white had no significant effect on population of weeds. Herbicides were found highly effective than hand-weeding and no-weeding. Comparatively Primextra was the best of all the treatments, giving maximum grain yield. Early planted crop gave more yield than late planted crop. The present work suggested that early planting and the application of Primetra would be more economical for general cultivation of maize.
