At molecular level twenty rice accessions were analyzed by SDS -PAGE (Polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis). Altogether twelve bands were observed on gel photographs. In some accessions variations were also observed of bands one, five and seven. The band one was absent in Pak335, Pak358, Pak384 and Pak434. The band five was absent in Pak265, Pak286, Pak291, Pak301, Pak313 and Pak330. The band seven was absent in Pak358. An early flowering and maturity was seen in those accessions, where band one, five and seven were absent. Those accessions where all twelve bands were present, took the maximum time span to flowering (113 days) and to maturity (114 days). The presence and absence of bands apparently had some genetic linkage with days to flowering and days to maturity. Apart from molecular data, statistical analysis of qualitative traits have also shown significant variations.
