Role of technical infrastructure objets in creation of village landscape

The village landscape is undergone to disturbances and even destruction by more and more elements of technical infrastructure. Paper considered some examples of transformer stations connected with overhead power transmission lines. The old-time transformer stations located in the village or its neighbourhood are suitable components of rural landscape and even may play a decorative role while the new stations situated on steel or reinforced concrete supports are unfamiliar to the environment. Although the functions of infrastructure elements often make their adaptation to village surroundings difficult, presented examples show the way of adjusting their shape to regional architecture
