Blaszczyk, J. | Ben, J. (Akademia Rolnicza, Krakow (Poland). Katedra Sadownictwa)
Effect of flesh firmness depended both upon the vegetation period and the applied doses of nitrogen. There were significant changes in the content of the extract in successive years of investigation. No effect of nitrogen on the content of malic acid was found at harvest time. During storage a faster degradation of acids usually occurred in fruit from the plots fertilized with 120 kg/ha in 1992 and in fruit from the plots with 60 and 120 kg/ha in 1994. A decrease in fruit weight during storage did not depend upon the applied fertilization, and was distincly related to the vegetative season
