Principles of landscape-ecological evaluation of functional spaces in the CHKO-BR Polana

The functional spaces of CHKO BR Polana have been assigned in 1980 within the Regional Projection of Nature Conservation. The agricultural soil resource (10 % of the area) is used for sheep and cattle grazing and as mowed meadows. This kind of use for fifteen years has affected the present state of functional spaces. The principal of impact assessment follows from aspects of all, the science, the conservation and the utilization. The landscape-ecological analysis of functional spaces enabled both, the quantitative and qualitative evaluation of negative effects caused by grazing, seasonal shepherd housing, recultivations, cutting of trees and shrubs and recreation. Measures proposal is based on removing negative effects and optimal use of functional spaces supported by results of scientific research
