The effect of feeding the fermented product was observed in two balance experiments with Black Spotted breed calves at the ages of two and six weeks. The product was in a dry state with a content of active microflora of bacteria of the strains Bifidobacter and Lactobacillus higher than 10E6/g. The preparation resulted in increased nutrient digestibility coefficients for crude protein, fat and ash in younger calves. The differences were not significant in older calves when they were weaned off liquid nutrition at higher intake of lucerne hay and feed mixture (FM). The results of nitrogen balance show in both experiments that feeding the preparation did not influence nitrogen retention (% of nitrogen intake and % of digested nitrogen)
