The main problems of German forestry result from high production cost, wages and services on one hand and low prices for wood products on the other hand. Private German forest enterprises and forest state administrations are searching for a way out of this crisis. Enterprises and administrations try to reduce their own personnel connected with an introduction of mechanized logging systems. These machines are often owned by contractors. Only a few enterprises are using the competence and capacity of their employees. Teamwork seems to be a way to achieve a higher efficiency because it is a chance to use the up to now "neglected" competence of all members of a forest enterprise. Some propositions are necessary for an efficient work in a team. The paper describes required conditions and how the teamwork can be implemented
