Twelve potential corn hybrids were grown on paddy field, Ratchaburi soil series, at Chainat province. They were KOSX 3501, KOSX 3502, Suwan 3701, KOSX 3504, KOSX 3505, KOSX 3506, Suwan 3702, KTX 3502, KTX 3503, KTX 3504, KDX 3701, and Suwan 3101. The objective of this research was to search for suitable corn varieties and population densities to grow on paddy field. The experimental design was 2*12 factorial in randomized complete block with 4 replications. The first factor was two population densities, 8,533 and 10,666 plants per rai and the second factor was twelve potential corn hybrids. The result showed that the variety Suwan 3701 gave highest yield 721 kilogram per rai (6.25 rai=1 hectare) whereas the check variety. Suwan 3101, produced 630 kilograms per rai. The high population density gave lower yield than the recommended population (626 vs 678 kilogram per rai). For phenological characteristic, Leaf area index and total dry matter accumulation was correlated to growth stage. The results suggested that it was possible to plant corn in paddy field at the population density of 8,533 plants/rai.
