A comparison of yield stability parameters in some bread wheat varieties

The stabilty performance of genotypes in a broad range of environments is of notable importance in the development of improved cultivars. Data of grain yield of eight bread wheat genotypes grown in five environments were used to assess the effectiveness of different stability statistics in measuring stability differences among genotypes. None of the statistics was significantly correlated with mean yield. The Si2 and CVi statistics were highly correlated with each other as well as with bi. The relative rankings for Wi2 and variance square i were exactly the same
