Comparison of 17 vegetable soybean varieties was conducted on 22 February 1993 at Ayutthaya Huntra Campus, Ayutthaya province. Randomized Complete Block Design was used. The objective was to find out the highest yielding variety under the irrigated paddy field condition. There were no significant differences of all varieties on their fresh-pod yields, number of fresh pod per plant, fresh(raw) weight of 100 seeds, number of fresh pods (2-3 seeds/pod) per kilogram and fresh-pod weight per plant. However, Kegon, KPS292, and Karietea trended to higher yield than the other 14 varieties, 1,465, 1,373 and 1,346 kg/rai, respectively. White Lion yielded the most number and weight of fresh pod per plant, 37.8 fresh pods and 73.90 grams, respectively. The days for harvesting of all varieties were 60 days after planting, except Tamasudare and AGS 190 taking 74 days.
