The possibility of winter cabbage cultivation on the open field and influence of planting data and cultivar on growth, yield, cabbage head quality, and content of dry matter were investigated under the agroecological conditions in Zeta's plain, Montenegro (Yugoslavia). The experiment was organized during 1996 and 1997. The planting data were: July 15, July 29 and August 13. The cultivars were Bartolo F1, Saratoga F1 and Hidena F1.
