The aim of this study was to examine the biocompatibility and osteoconductive potential of the microporose implant based on aluminium trioxide "Aldovite-1". Within the Modified Widman's lobe operation, artificial bone defects were made in the area of mandibular premolars, in six German sherpherds. "Aldovite" was implanted in the medial bone defects, while Interpor 200 was placed in the distal defects, as a control preparation. On the basis of the results, it was determined that the microporous, bioceramic implant "Aldovite" is a biocompatible material with an osteoconductive potential, which is of importance for the regeneration of the parodoncium.
