Technical solution for a boiler burning sour cherry pits

Conventional energy sources have limited capacities and thus they cannot cover the ever higher demands for energy. The solution is in using alternative fuels. For this purpose investigations must be directed to the development of the devices for the combustion of biomass as well as other waste and renewal fuels. The investigations being performed at the Mechanical Engineering Faculty of Nis, Serbia (Yugoslavia) are directed to the development of universal chambers for the combustion of biomass as a qualitative and renewal fuel. In this paper the description of a technical solution of a boiler with thermal power 40kW for the combustion of cherry pits as well as the experimental results are given.
