Phosphorus represents one of the major structural elements of the body, and its compounds participate in many very important physiological processes which are necessary for growth and production of animals. Phosphorus from the plant feeds is very poorly utilized, and therefore it is necessary to add it in a mineral form. Because the utilization of phosphorus from the individual mineral feeds differs, the aim of this work was to compare utilization of phosphorus from four sources: dicalcium phosphate, monocalcium phosphate, monoammonium phosphate and phosphonal. As the criteria for assessment of utilization of phosphorus the biomechanical characteristics of bones have been used. On the basis of results obtained, it was found that there were no significant differences in phosphorus availability between phosphorus sources.
