[Prognoses of Red Mite (Panonychus ulmi Koch) based on the number of winter egg]

The purpose of this study was to prognosticate the population density of Panonychus ulmi based on the number of winter eggs potential. According to the data in the apple orchard with a winter eggs population higher tha 1500 eggs for 100 cm/twigs the Panonychus ulmi density during the spring was very high, starting before blooming of apple trees. In the orchards with a pontential 500-1000 winter egg for 100 cm/twigs Panonychus ulmi population reached the threshold level later in the seasion. In the apple trees orchards with a potential 100-500 winter eggs Panonychus ulmi population remained always under threshold level during the period of vegetation.
