Azotobacter inhabits sugar beet rhizosphere and a success of this association depends on compatibility of the strain and sugar beet genotypes. The objects of investigation were influence of six selected Azotobacter strains on three sugar beet hybrids. This paper reports about the effects of inoculation on seeds with Azotobacter strains in field condition. Increase of sugar content was noticed in the case of all tested Azotobacter strains. Sugar content varied from 0.02/ for A. strain 2/1 to 0.62/ for A. strain 8. The most compatible with all tested Azotobacter strain showed variety Ns-Hy11 for increasing of sugar content. In general, all tested Azotobacter strains accept A. strain 3 influenced on decrease of K, Na and amino-N content in root. Azotobacter chroococcum strain 8 showed significant influence in technological characteristic of sugar beet root.
