150 animals (22.1 per cent) seropositive to Sendai virus were detected on 9 swine-breeding farms of Lithuania by the use of serological tests performed on 678 blood sera from 12 farms. In more than 80 per cent of seropositive sera titres of antihaemagglutinin ranged between 1:8-1:64. 34 sera from 4 farms were tested on the presence of antibodies to Sendai and Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory syndrome viruses (PRRS). In 16 sera (47.0 per cent) antibodies to Sendai virus have been detected, while in 5 sera (14.7 per cent)- those to PRRS virus. Antibodies to both viruses simultaneously were detected in 7 sera (20.6 per cent). The authors suppose that the detection of animals seropositive to Sendai and PRRS viruses testifies circulation of the viruses on a number of swine-breeding farms of Lithuania, participating in ethiology and pathogenesis of respiratory diseases in swine
