Godetia grandiflora is a popular annual ornamental plant used as a summer pot plant and cut flower. The main problem of growing Godetia is its susceptibility to the fusarium wilt. In the experiments with Godetia cultivars we were trying to find out the influence of pregrowing ways to the plants' susceptibility of Fusarium sp. There were three different ways of pregrowing the Godetia plants: seeds were sown directly to the open ground, seeds were sown into pots in the greenhouse and seeds were sown in ground beds of the greenhouse and pricked out into pots after sprouting. The experiment has shown clear that the susceptibility of the Godetia plants to the fusarium wilt significantly decreased when seeds were sown directly to the open ground. As the commercial production of Godetia needs a pregrowing period in a greenhouse, it would be necessary to prefer technologies, which would enable to avoid damaging roots of plants
