Water management technique under different soybean varieties in rice field

A research has been conducted in Peusangan North Aceh since June until October 1995. A Split-plot Randomized Design with three replications was used in this research. Three varieties of soybean: Singgalang, Kipas Putih and Luthong were tested as main plot. Eight watered treatment: without watered (control), at blooming stage (F), watered at longing bean development stage (P), watered at F and P stage, watered at filling seed stage (S), watered at F and S stage, watered at P and S stage, and watered at F, P and S. Research showed that water management treatment significantly affects to the soybean tested varieties. The various of root nodule total of the soybean tested were affected by water management treatments. This condition was influenced by the high-sand and low-organic matter content of the soil in the area. The highest of one-hundred seed weight was found in Kipas Putih. This variety is predicted has been adapted to the area tested. The S, FS, PS and FPS water management treatments applied to Kipas Putih significantly could increase the yield, comparing to other water management treatment applied
