[Study on agronomic characters and yield potential of several varieties of sweet stalk sorghum]

إنجليزي. Study on agronomic characters and yield potential of several varieties of sweet stalk sorghum. The experiment was conducted at Gowa and Bulukumba District, South Sulawesi in dry season 1995. The objective of the experiment was to evaluate agronomic characteristic and yield potential of sweet stalk sorghum. Five lines/varieties were arranged in Randomized Complete Block Design with four replications. The plot size was 5x3 m and plant spacing 75x25 cm. Urea, TSP and KCl were applied at the rates of 300, 200 and 100 Kg/ha, respectively. Result of the experiment indicated that 'Keller' is the tallest variety (197,6 cm) at Gowa and 226,0 cm at Bulukumba. 'IS 6973' yielded highest (3,48 t/ha) than the other lines/varieties and 'Wray' variety yielded the highest stalk sucrose content 16,15 percent at Gowa and 16,73 percent at Bulukumba, while the check variety 'Rio' yielded 13,21 percent and 12,32 percent

الأندونيسية. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kabupaten Gowa dan Bulukamba, Sulawesi Selatan pada MK 1995. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui sifat agronomik dan potensi hasil dari sorgum manis. Sebanyak 5 galur/varietas sorgum batang manis dievaluasi dengan menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok dengan 4 ulangan. Luas plot adalah 5x3 m dengan jarak tanam 75x25 cm. Urea, TSP dan KCl diberikan sebanyak 300 kg, 200 kg dan 100 kg/ha. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa Keller merupakan varietas yang tertinggi tanamannya (197,6 cm) di Gowa dan 226,0 cm di Bulukumba. Galur IS 6973 memberikan hasil tertinggi di Bulukumba (3,48 t/ha) sedang Rio hanya 2,73 t/ha. Kadar sakarosa tertinggi diperoleh pada varietas 'Wray' (16,15 persen) di Gowa dan 16,73 persen di Bulukumba, sedang Rio hanya 13,21 persen dan 12,32 persen
